Dr Zoe Isaacson, MbChB, MSc MRCPsych
A Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor who has specialised in Mental Health. I integrate psychological concepts with knowledge about the brain's electro-chemical functioning to give you evidence-based treatment plans.
As well as my Psychiatry qualifications, I hold a Masters degree (distinction) in Systemic and Family Therapy. I completed this intensive 4 years of additional training as I am fundamentally committed to delivering the most effective mental health care I can. This form of therapy focusses on how humans relate to one another within their culture and environment. I find this is the perfect complementing perspective to the medical model which views mental distress as brain pathology.

I assess, diagnose and treat young children (6) up to pension age, and am interested in and hopeful for everyone I see. I consider myself very lucky to be a valued part of many life journeys.
Early intervention prevents suffering, and so throughout my career I have specialised in Youth Mental Health. As this is not a separate specialty in the UK, I completed my general adult training to register as a specialist with the GMC. In my consultant role in the NHS I oversee the care of children and young adults between 8 and 25.

As well as advising on medication, I can also work with individuals, couples and families therapeutically to understand themselves, process past experiences and change their patterns of communication and behaviour.
I am registered with the General Medical Council (7082666) and take part in continued professional development and yearly appraisal cycles.
I offer a unique and personal approach where your needs will be considered holistically, integrating medical and therapeutic perspectives.
