Anxiety
I find that many adults who are experiencing anxiety, may not be fully aware of how much impact their ‘over thinking’ is having on their lives. Through accurate diagnosis and treatment plans, those affected can regain control over their minds and bodies
Those benefitting from assessment and treatment include:
- High performing individuals who cant ‘switch off’
- Parents trying to ‘do it all’
- Those who avoid social situations and wish they could participate more fully in life
- Those who are becoming more and more restricted by thoughts and feelings they are not in control over
Symptoms include
- Over-thinking and rumination- the same thoughts going over and over
- Brain-fog- Too many thoughts at once, difficulty making decisions, feeling like you cant remember anything
- Physical tension and stress- muscle aches, head aches
- Insomnia- thinking about the past or the future and not being able to sleep
- ‘Worrying’ fearing bad outcomes in everyday life
- Burnout- not being able to maintain function at work and at home.
- Symptoms of ‘OCD’
Treatment could include:
- Nutrition advice
- Lifestyle interventions
- New-tech interventions (trans-cranial electrical stimulation)
- Therapy- either cognitive-behavioural or more exploratory depending on individual factors
- Medication- often short term to ‘break the cycle’
