Neurodiversity (Autism/ADHD)
I see adults who are wondering whether they may have Autism or ADHD. Often they have spent years feeling they are ‘different’ to others and are seeking a diagnosis to help them understand their challenges. Sometimes this is triggered by a new problem, such as performance reviews at work, or relationship challenges. I take a pragmatic approach in such cases, starting with general assessment to understand exactly what outcome someone is hoping for and prioritising the treatment plan and problem solving. If further assessment for diagnostic certainty is needed, I offer that as ‘add on’ so that it remains cost effective, as all information gathered in the first appointment will contribute to the diagnostic process.
If you are already pretty sure that you have either condition and want to proceed straight to the full diagnostic assessment, I will review any information you send me and then if I agree a diagnosis is likely, I will schedule you in.
